Why Is the DNC Actively Ignoring Maine's Marriage Battle? / Queerty:
"Barack Obama's Organizing for America, an organization now under the umbrella of the Democratic National Committee, alerted its Maine membership about today's election … without suggesting they vote 'No On 1.' Or even mention there's a marriage battle going on there. And in a follow-up email, OFA asked supporters to get involved … in New Jersey. You might know OFA under its former name, 'Organizing for Obama.' Sure, OFA is asking members to support Gov. Jon Corzine, who supports gay marriage, for re-election in New Jersey, but they included not one word about what today means for Maine's gays and lesbians. (Meanwhile, nothing about Washington's Ref 71?)"

The DNC has long long ignored LGBT people when we needed them, yet are all too happy to suck us dry when they need us. How hilarious that they hit up Maine TWICE today, shilling for the JERSEY election. I'm sick of the DNC altogether, and would rather give money to a homeless, alcoholic gambling and crack addict than the DNC. At least I'd feel better about the way the money was spent.

Big news out of Michigan, surely the Professors (who tend to be very progressive) can't wait to find out - MLive.com : "Calvin College professors will find out Monday whether the college’s governing board will withdraw a controversial memo ordering them to follow Christian Reformed Church teachings against homosexuality and same-sex marriage. President Gaylen Byker will update faculty on board discussions that took place over the weekend by the Board of Trustees, including a decision on the memo, spokesman Phil de Haan said Saturday."

HEY #p2!--CALLING ALL PROGRESSIVE ALLIES!

-HEY #p2! (Progressives). We can't do this alone. Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans have been fighting for over half a Century to have basic Civil Rights. We have so much to do, and we are such a small group. Without an army of Progressive allies, we can't win. Our rights as American citizens are constantly being compromised, despite life-time service to our nation as good, contributing citizens. We can't wait any longer. We need our Progressive allies to step up and go to bat for us TODAY. We must demand Progressives have got to make LGBT rights a top priority in 2010, or we will keep being put on the back-burner. There will ALWAYS be something more important than LGBT equality affecting America--issues like Health Care Reform and the Economy effect LGBT people too! However, when we are discriminated against under the law every single day, we can't give our all to fixing these problems. We are long overdue to be counted as equal citize...
