Phil Reese November 20, 2009--For over three decades the Washington Blade was the go-to weekly political news source for the American LGBT community that was unrivaled in prestige and access for much of that time. And today it doesn't exist anymore . In fact, the Washington Blade disappeared with some long-standing bastions of the LGBT journalism pantheon: the South Florida Blade , 411 Magazine , David Magazine , the Houston Voice , and the extremely respected Southern Voice . This Monday all of these institutions suddenly ceased to exist at once as the Small Business Administration decided to close down their parent company, Window Media. We answered fun questions like what’s in Breckenridge CO? Did you get your flu shot? Do you use honey, vinegar and cinnamon? Ace updated us on his friend Jeramie Rain-Dreyfuss and Ace’s trip to Las Vegas. Is the death penalty akin to putting down a rabid dog? I gave Ace an election roundup and we talked about marriage. Ace told us about the importance of getting to know people. We talked about death, sharing of yourself and living in truth and honesty. Ever listen to Sting? Ace used to work at his favorite West Hollywood hangout, and brought him his bagels! That was after his time as Editor at the old Advocate competitor, the Coast-to-Coast times.
