Check out this week’s Lundon Calling with Ace Lundon and featuring Phil Reese and… oh yeah Lance ditched us this week–but it was still a fun! We answered fun questions like what’s in Breckenridge CO? Did you get your flu shot? Do you use honey, vinegar and cinnamon?
Ace updated us on his friend Jeramie Rain-Dreyfuss and Ace’s trip to Las Vegas. Is the death penalty akin to putting down a rabid dog? I gave Ace an election roundup and we talked about marriage. Ace told us about the importance of getting to know people.
We talked about death, sharing of yourself and living in truth and honesty. Ever listen to Sting? Ace used to work at his favorite West Hollywood hangout, and brought him his bagels! That was after his time as Editor at the old Advocate competitor, the Coast-to-Coast times. Speaking of the Advocate, we discussed the Advocate folding… into an insert in Out magazine.
Want to know what to do to make changes in your world around you? We’re going to teach you how you can How can you help PFLAG, and how to stay young.
My question is about Marriage. Do you agree with Ace? Is Marriage dead? Are we wrong to focus on Marriage? Is marriage bad or great or something in between? Answer in the comments! Find out more in EPISODE FIFTY OF LUNDON-CALLING!

And it has to be the "M" word too. Creating parallel institutions (DP's, Civil Unions) is not only an unacceptable alternative, but it creates the sort of "Marriage Lite" that actually contributes to declining Marriage rates.
I want the same 1016(ish) civil rights automatically granted to anyone (inmates, drunks, morons, republicans) just for getting married. Why should it be denied to me?
I think we need to throw our energies into passing ENDA and overturning DADT--and then we should move immediately into overtuning DOMA and passing UAFA (bi-national couples) and the DPBO act (Unified federal tax code for LGBT couples). After that, we get the Supreme Court to overturn the patchwork of gay marriage bans and make Marriage Equality the benchmark everywhere.
NOT that we can only do one thing at once. We ought to be taking our states to court now to set the stage. We ought to be lobbying our lawmakers now on DOMA, UAFA and DPBO now. However, our BIG PUSH needs to be ENDA and DADT because those two are sitting in Congress, waiting to be passed, and with enough positive pressure WILL pass.
We must, then, recruit allies to help us in the fight. 4 people talking to a Senator about ENDA is nice, but how about 20 people? If we get a massive showing of straight allies on Capitol Hill and in district offices showing up on OUR behalf, they can't deny that this is the right thing to do!
